Having focused on fleet enhancement for 10 years, in 2009 while continuing with "Beyond Fleet 2000", SYCSA decided to broaden the spectrum of people who used our facilities by targeting the disadvantaged, disabled and more able youngsters in our local community. We therefore launched our fourth project in 2010.
"Enable Youth"
Our 2010 project provided free sailing sessions for 9 local Primary Schools and added 2 performance dinghies and small sails for some of our existing dinghies.
The small sails will enable greater access for the lighter weight and disabled youngsters.
- A wider range of dinghies by adding 2 RS Vision (Achieved 2010)
- Small sails for our Wayfarer fleet (Achieved 2010)
This project brought us full-circle by gaining further funding from Sport England.
